Discussion Points
- Face to face meetings seen to be high value
- London Events tended to be large - difficult to
meet people - lots of new people each
meeting.
- On-line communications has a number of issues
- mis-interpretation etc
|
Thoughts of the Discussion Leader
|
- Value of the phone to fill the gap between on-
line and f2f.
- Meeting opportunities do exist through some
Regional Clubs
- Ecademists can set up meeting opportunities
and new clubs etc
- Better use of technologies to facilitate
communications - webcam etc
- Young people use these technologies better
than older - need them to attract younger
members
- Off-line meetings need a purpose – have a
natural lifespan – close when have served their
purpose
- Could Ecad improve to make off-line easier -
better meetings functionality/improved profiles
of individuals.

What were the conclusions?
- F2F meetings do have high value
- There are opportunities through Ecad for f2f
- Business-Scene is a resource to identify f2f
opportunities in an area
- If you want a f2f – make it happen - by
email/phone/club etc
- Organise your own meetings - 121 - or regular
meetings outside of London
- Technology will improve - can we use it to
reduce the need forf2f in the future.
What is going to happen next?
- Use Business-Scene to find out what meetings
are being held
- Set up more 121s - with online contacts
